Introduction
As the Founder and CEO, my job is to ensure ARMH is serving its clients, its employees, and the community by providing exceptional mental health care to clients nationwide. My role is to create supportive, family-friendly jobs for staff, and to build training opportunities for future clinicians who are passionate about social justice. Day-to-day, I oversee business operations, create and implement ARMH’s strategic plan, and lead the Executive Leadership Team. I combine my training as a psychologist with my business expertise in service of ARMH’s Mission, Vision, and Values. I am passionate about serving others through clinical work and business.
Education & Training
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado (CO PSY4238) who has specialized in the treatment of eating disorders since 2008. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University and completed my Doctoral Psychology Internship at the University of California, Davis in the Eating Disorder Emphasis Program.
Following the completion of my Ph.D., I founded ARMH, working as a solo provider until 2016 when the practice hired its first employee. The organization has steadily expanded since that time to our current team size. To best serve ARMH and my team, I returned to graduate school at the University of Colorado, Boulder where I earned my MS in Organizational Leadership. Additionally, I completed a certification for Women in Leadership from Cornell University.
- Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, Colorado State University (APA Accredited Program)
- M.S. in Organizational Leadership (MSOL), Organizational Communication specialty, University of Colorado, Boulder
- Women in Leadership Certificate, Cornell University
- Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp), currently inactive
- Certified Eating Disorders Specialist Approved Supervisor (CEDS-S), International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp), currently inactive
- Doctoral Psychology Internship, University of California, Davis, Eating Disorder Emphasis Program (APA Accredited Internship Program)
- M.S. in Counseling Psychology, Colorado State University (APA Accredited Program)
- B.S. in Psychology, Colorado State University, graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors
My business expertise is founded on more than a decade of experience running my own company as well as formal education. My business specialties include strategy, organizational design, systems and operations, organizational communication, performance management, leadership development and mentorship as well as revenue cycle management.
Previously, I held the Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and CEDS Approved Supervisor designations through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) but chose not to renew them. My podcast, The Eating Disorder Recovery Podcast, discusses the latest information about eating disorder recovery including how to recover from disordered eating, make peace with food, improve body image, and heal your relationship with yourself. The podcast showcases top leaders in the field and reaches people in over 100 countries worldwide. You can find my books, Recover Your Perspective and the corresponding Meditations for Eating Disorder Recovery on my Amazon Author Page. I am more than 15 years fully recovered from an eating disorder and believe that recovery is possible for all people.
Personal
I grew up in Colorado and feel lucky to call it my home. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, catching a Rockies game, tending to my houseplants, trying my hand at art projects, especially painting, and spending time outdoors with plenty of SPF doing easy-to-moderate activities. Most importantly, I spend time with my loved ones.

Introduction
I am a licensed psychologist offering individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. I have experience working with a variety of mental health concerns including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, chronic pain, life transitions and grief. Through a foundation of trust, safety and respect, I help individuals find alignment within their lives, and develop a greater, more compassionate sense of self.
Education & Training
I completed my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. I completed my predoctoral internship at Aspire Indiana Health. I have worked in a variety of settings from inpatient hospitals, partial hospitalization, private practice and primary care clinics with a specialization in eating disorder treatment.
- Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (APA accredited program)
- Predoctoral Internship Aspire Indiana Health (APA accredited doctoral internship)
- M.A. in Clinical Psychology, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (APA accredited program)
- B.A. in Psychology and Recreation and Tourism, Colorado State University
Approach to Clinical Work
I provide a safe and judgement-free space which allows individuals to show up authentically, to cultivate a deeper sense of self and agency. I believe that our current functioning and the way we navigate life is a direct reflection of past relational experiences with ourselves, family, friends and our community. These unique experiences helped shaped our behavior and approach to life in ways that may no longer be effective or helpful. During our time together, we will work to identify patterns and behaviors in your relationships with yourself and others that are no longer serving you. In exchange, we will increase your ability to cope with all emotions, establish healthy, mutually beneficial relationships and develop new behaviors to effectively create long lasting change.
Personal
Most days, you can find me trying out a new recipe or restaurant, walking the trails with my son and chocolate lab, or cuddling with my bunny. I am never more than 3 feet from a cozy blanket and get real excited about any project that includes organizing and color coding.

Approach to Clinical Work
I utilize a person-centered approach in therapy and value my clients’ autonomy and expertise in their own lives. In order to achieve this, I integrate various approaches within therapy including psychodynamic, interpersonal, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based interventions.
Personal
I value time spent in nature, as well as creative expression through art and writing. Some days I find myself being active by hiking or exploring the city with my dog, Carl. On other days I enjoy the laziness of lounging around with a book, jigsaw puzzle, or a good tv show.

Westminster Office
Introduction
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado State offering individual psychotherapy to adults. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, PTSD, and OCD and have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflicts, and ADHD. I am queer and non-binary and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
As a white, European-American, I also ground myself in practices of cultural humility to offer a therapy setting that is affirming of clients of other races and ethnicities. I bring a warm, curious, and compassionate energy to psychotherapy, fostering a space where clients can be brave and vulnerable in pursuing their inner work. I try to minimize the power differential between provider and client through deep listening, receptivity to feedback, and empowering clients to recognize and embrace their inherent wisdom.
Education & Training
I completed my Master of Science in Nutrition & Clinical Health Psychology in 2019 at Bastyr University, a school for natural medicine in Kenmore, WA. After receiving my associate license, I practiced therapy at a community mental health agency in Seattle, WA that focused on serving lower-income, LGBTQIA+ adults. From there, I went on to work at a group private practice in Tacoma, WA that treated eating disorders from a Health at Every Size and anti-oppression lens. Most recently, I worked as a primary therapist at Eating Recovery Center Denver in an inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization unit for children and adolescents. I have primarily received training in the following therapeutic modalities: Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
- M.S. in Nutrition & Clinical Health Psychology, Bastyr University
- B.A. in Religious Studies, Oberlin College, graduated with High Honors
Approach to Clinical Work
I aim to bring a spirit of open-mindedness, lightheartedness, and collaboration to the therapeutic relationship. I seek to provide gentle guidance to clients to help them move into discomfort, expand their insight, and discover previously untapped strength and resources, while also respecting each person’s unique process and pacing. I have a holistic approach, taking into consideration the mind, body, and spirit, as integral to healing.
I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy in my counseling practice, engaging the intrinsic healing power of our Self to allow injured and protective parts to be unburdened and liberated from their habitual roles. I integrate IFS with somatic therapy, encouraging clients to develop a more attuned relationship with their body and to allow felt sensation to direct their internal work. I also strive to bring a non-stigmatizing attitude to mental health care and encourage clients to notice the ways in which the harmful and hierarchical systems we live in contribute to our experience of suffering. I use my nutrition education and training to support clients in cultivating an intuitive relationship with food, rest, and other forms of nourishment. In addition, I am a long-time practitioner of mindfulness-based practices and offer these skills to clients from a trauma-informed lens.
Personal
I was born and grew up in Boulder, Colorado. After several long hiatuses away for school and work, I am grateful to finally be back and putting down roots in my home state. Introduction
Greetings! So often, mental health treatment focuses on treating illness and diagnoses. My hope is that the people I work with not only heal, but thrive and flourish. My background is rooted in clinical health psychology and I specialize in the utilization of exposure-based treatment methods to address PTSD and trauma-related disorders. I also have extensive experience in addressing anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, substance abuse, ADHD, developmental difficulties, and childhood/familial dynamics that contribute to adult mental health. I also have an extensive assessment background in neuropsychology, cognitive/intellectual functioning, and academic achievement. Yet, no matter the specific issue in question, I see treating each person as a distinct, unique individual as my first priority.
Education & Training
I completed my Ph.D. and M.A. at the University of Colorado Denver in the Clinical Health Psychology program. I completed my Postdoctoral Fellowship in PTSD treatment at the Baltimore VA. My Predoctoral Internship was completed at the Pittsburgh VA in the Generalist where I focused on anxiety and adjustment disorders, combat stress and recovery, and substance abuse treatment. I also have Bachelor’s degrees in psychology and philosophy from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
- Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology, University of Colorado Denver
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, PTSD Emphasis, VA Maryland Healthcare System
- Predoctoral Internship, Generalist Track, VA Pittsburgh Health Care System
- M.A. Clinical Psychology, University of Colorado Denver
- B.A. Psychology, Metropolitan State University of Denver – B.A. Philosophy, Metropolitan State University of Denver
Approach to Clinical Work
I see human beings as incredibly complex, dynamic, and multifaceted creatures that experience life on numerous levels. Consequently, change and healing often requires addressing problems holistically at multiple levels, including the body, the mind, and overall sense of being. I see psychotherapy as an opportunity to help my patients co-navigate the challenges the face in their lives and support them as they create an inner and outer life that allows them to not just return to baseline, but thrive. I often say that I take a “neurons up” approach starting first with the biological/physical factors, then look at the immediate cognitive and behavioral challenges present, and then dig deeper to examine the underlying drives that fuel psychological difficulties. All of these factors taken together, in a holistic approach, can lead to changes in overall wellbeing that can last for years to come. As Robin Williams said in Patch Adams, “Treat a disease, you win, you lose. Treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win every time.”
Personal
I am in a perpetual pursuit to discover more about the human experience so you can often find me reading and studying on other areas such as eastern contemplative practices, various belief structures of the world, philosophy, and anything else that gives insight into subjective experience. I am also a yoga instructor and am often working to expand my knowledge of the yogic path. I’m a Colorado kid so I love all the outside playtime I can get. I am obsessed with dogs, a foodie to my very bones, and love any excuse to gather good friends around good food with good conversation!

Approach to Clinical Work
Empirical research has provided a clear message: therapy is most effective when it emphasizes a strong, understanding, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. By centering on each client’s unique experience, we find sustainable ways to implement change.
My therapeutic style is integrative and flexible. I primarily work from an emotion-focused and existential lens which connects past traumas to current patterns, addresses underlying needs, and fosters hope. Through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), we can better manage symptoms and move towards goals. This integrative approach allows client-driven movement between self-exploration, emotional processing, and challenge.

As a highly sensitive person, I find true joy in thoughtfully helping clients explore their emotional intricacies as they make their way in this often over-stimulating world. I love incorporating non-traditional modalities into my work, such as art, play, dream exploration, and time spent in nature. Postgraduate Master’s Resident

Introduction
I am a Postgraduate Master’s Resident serving adults and couples with various concerns, including relationship distress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, and life transitions. I integrate attachment-based psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral approaches to build a strong therapeutic relationship while helping clients evoke change. My journey in healing childhood trauma and relationship wounds drew me to the mental health field, where I continue to feel the love and support that promotes growth, well-being, and stronger, healthier communities. As a trauma survivor and counselor, I offer clients compassion and acceptance to increase their autonomy, better their relationships, and engage in meaningful activities. I believe my life experiences and roles as a wife, mother, daughter, parental caretaker, and former journalist allow me to make deep connections and form meaningful therapeutic relationships that foster transformation.
Education & Training
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. During my program, I interned at community and private practice settings serving adults, adolescents, children, and couples while pursuing extensive couples and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) training. I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Level 1 and 2. Additionally, I completed an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) externship and multiple courses through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, including CBT Essentials, CBT for Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, Suicide Prevention, and Mindfulness.
- M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Regis University
- B.A. in English, University of Colorado Boulder
- B.S. in Journalism/News Editorial, University of Colorado Boulder
Approach to Clinical Work
I believe you are the expert of your experience. I respect the unique qualities and challenges individuals and couples bring to counseling and encourage openness, acceptance, and creative problem-solving when addressing mental health and relationship issues. My priority is building a secure therapeutic bond where clients feel safe to explore their inner world, emotional experiences, and problematic thinking, behavioral, and interactional patterns. Therapy is a collaborative healing process, and as your secure base, guide, and companion, I offer empathy, validation, and attunement throughout the journey.
I integrate Attachment Theory, CBT, and Mindfulness approaches when working with individuals and couples. In Attachment Theory, early attachment styles are explored and identified to break unhealthy patterns and build or rebuild trusting, supporting relationships. I often use this approach to address childhood trauma, relationship distress, and other painful experiences that prevent healthy connections.
When addressing disorders like anxiety and depression, I utilize CBT techniques and psychoeducation to help clients identify unhelpful thoughts and create new ways of thinking and acting to improve their mood and behavior. This more directive approach effectively reduces troubling symptoms and teaches better management of problems.
Mindfulness is another effective technique I use to help clients change how they relate to their thoughts and internal dialogue. Clients are encouraged to approach their difficult thoughts and feelings with curiosity and acceptance rather than avoidance to discover new coping options and resolve issues. Practicing Mindfulness is also a part of my daily routine.
Personal
I was born and raised in Colorado and left for a few years to explore the Alaska wilderness and start a journalism career. When establishing a therapeutic relationship, I strongly believe that building a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and trusting environment is essential in encouraging client growth. - M.S. in Sport Psychology, Florida State University
- B.A. in Psychology, San Diego State University
Approach to Clinical Work
Foundational to my work with every client is establishing a strong, collaborative relationship built on trust and understanding. My passion, what brings me joy, is helping clients build that same trusting relationship with the various parts of their identity as the beginning of leading a healthy and adaptive life.
My approach to clinical work integrates developmental, systems, and dynamic perspectives; understanding how the distress, dissatisfaction, or fulfillment we experience in the present is continuously contributed to by our biology, relationships, and past lived-experiences. I believe that a greater understanding of these dynamics is important in developing an honest and unbiased perspective on our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With this self-knowledge, we can seize opportunities to disrupt maladaptive, unproductive, or harmful patterns (or cycles) of behavior and begin to foster, or continue fostering, a healthier, resilient, and adaptive Self.
Personal
I was born and raised in Southern California and developed a love of all things nature-bound by hiking and backpacking my way through the various California forests and mountains. For the last 7 years, I have called the mossy oak landscapes of north Florida home. I am so excited to have had the opportunity to move to Colorado and cannot wait to continue exploring all of the natural beauty it has to offer. When I am not working, I am curled up on a couch with my partner and 6 pets (2 dogs, 4 cats), reading or watching tv. The theme of our home is, and always will be, cozy-vibes!

Approach to Clinical Work
Every person has a poetic, beautiful, and adventurous story. Within these stories are narratives that provide meaning to life. These narratives may be passed down or developed through personal experience. Regardless of how these narratives come to be, they are present and can lead to joy, fulfillment, and success or can be unhelpful, causing someone to be stuck in a way of thinking or being that is harmful. My goal as a clinician is to explore my clients’ stories, without judgement. Then, collaboratively craft new narratives that increase their compassion and self-worth and create a balanced and flexible view of the world. Through this process healing takes place and clients can meet their goals.
Through authenticity, warmth, and relationship, I walk alongside my therapy and assessment clients as they tell their stories and pursue healing. I use person-centered (PCT), psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapy approaches, in addition to feminist and narrative theories to offer each individual a personalized therapeutic experience that best fits with their personality and goals. I recognize the tremendous vulnerability it takes to pursue mental health treatment and diagnosis and am committed to honoring my clients and their experiences throughout the therapeutic and assessment process.
Personal
I was born and raised in Washington and moved to Oregon when I was 18 for school. Over the last several years I have found a passion for traveling and am excited to move to Colorado and experience its unique terrain and beauty. Though I love nature, most of my hobbies are indoors. I enjoy reading, baking, playing instruments and singing, writing, and more. There are few places as comforting as the couch with my dogs and partner, especially if a cup of tea or hot chocolate are involved.

Personal
I am from a small town in Ohio, but I currently live in the suburbs of Cleveland. I recently picked up crocheting to work through anxiety and keep my hands busy. I have enjoyed this so much and even started an Etsy shop for some of my creations. My daughter and I are twins our favorite activity is couch cuddles, with snacks and whatever she decides we are watching. We absolutely adore our Great Pyrenees Ami, who is double my daughter’s size but that doesn’t stop her from giving him loves. Ami is her guardian, and loves his little human. My husband and I have a passion for movies and music, so whenever we get a chance to watch a movie or attend a show, we take it and that’s not very often. Most of the time we spend together is as a family outside, watching movies, or our daughter’s favorite, at the mall.

- Predoctoral Internship, Arizona State University (APA accredited)
- M.S. in Counseling Psychology, Iowa State University

Introduction
Howdy! I’m Sara and I’m a Postgraduate Master’s Resident offering therapy to folks of all ages (kiddos, teens, and adults). Prior to my work here at ARMH, I worked with individuals experiencing and moving through domestic and intimate partner violence. I am experienced in supporting clients struggling with trauma & PTSD, depression, anxiety & panic, body image issues & disordered eating, and women’s issues. I am deeply curious about my clients’ complex and rich life experiences, and am passionate about creating therapeutic relationships that empower my clients to get in touch with their own innate resiliency.
Education & Training
I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver, where I also earned a certificate in Human-Animal-Environment-Interactions in Social Work. During my time in graduate school, I worked at a family resource center providing advocacy to folks impacted by the Marshall Fires. I then went on to work for a domestic violence agency where I provided individual trauma therapy. I am trained in nonviolent communication and cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as in nature-based and animal-assisted interventions.
- MSW (Master’s in Social Work) with a certificate in Human-Animal Environment-Interactions in Social Work, University of Denver
- B.A. in Art History & Studio Art, University of Virginia
Approach to Clinical Work
As a highly sensitive person, I find true joy in thoughtfully helping clients explore their emotional intricacies as they make their way in this often over-stimulating world. I love incorporating non-traditional modalities into my work, such as art, play, dream exploration, and time spent in nature. Therapy is a collaborative and creative journey that takes courage and patience. I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they embark on this path, offering my support, compassion, and curiosity as they navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories on the way home toward their authentic selves.
Personal
I moved to Colorado in 2020 from Virginia, and though I love the sunshine and the Rocky Mountains, part of my heart will always be in the Shenandoah and with the rich green and blue hues of the woods back east. I love to recharge by being alone, whether that’s time spent immersing myself in nature, at the pottery wheel, tinkering with one of my many unfinished paintings, baking cookies, or snuggled up under a soft blanket with my tabby cat Apollo and a good book.

My goal is to stand beside you, wherever you are in your healing journey, by creating a safe and judgment free space. You are welcome exactly as you are!
Education & Training
I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in December 2023. I completed my graduate internship at a nonprofit community mental health organization. My clinical training includes individual, group, and family therapy services in an outpatient setting. I have worked with all ages including children, adolescents, and older adults.

My main approach to therapy is person centered as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I strongly believe that creating a trusting, safe, and judgment free space is crucial to the growth and healing of each client. I will promote this by starting each session with warmth and empathy; allowing you to come in as your authentic self.
When working with young children and adolescents, I like to incorporate aspects of play therapy and art therapy in our sessions to help meet each individual where they are at. With teenagers and adults, I incorporate CBT and DBT. I also like to add in mindfulness practices with all ages.

Longing for my loved ones and wanting to start a family in a warmer climate brought me back home.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have come to appreciate all that nature offers and I seek to care for our planet and preserve the beauty and wonder of the earth.
