doctoral Psychology Internship

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a doctoral student looking for a doctoral psychology internship? Have you always wanted to work in a private practice setting? Do you want to work with a group of individuals focused on client-care and social justice in the local community?

Colorado Therapy & Assessment Center is looking for doctoral interns who will bring a unique perspective to our staff and share our values of compassion, belonging, humility, and excellence. We are always looking to expand our ability to help the diverse range of individuals, including those in underserved and marginalized communities, and we value new perspectives and experience within our staff. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with diverse or marginalized identities. Join our values- driven, supportive team!

About the Position

As a doctoral intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a private practice setting, engage in long-term psychotherapeutic work, and increase your professional confidence and competence while simultaneously receiving specialized training in preparation for practicing as a licensed psychologist.

Doctoral interns will provide therapy services for clients with eating disorders and general mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational concerns. Though you will work with general mental health concerns, willingness to work with eating disorders is required. Doctoral interns will also perform psychological assessments.

Doctoral interns receive weekly group and individual supervision, as well as specialty training in eating disorders, psychological assessment, supervision of supervision, group therapy, and psychotherapy. Supervision for eating disorder cases counts toward application for Certified Eating Disorders Specialist if candidate desires. Doctoral interns participate in didactic trainings and case consultation meetings for eating disorders. Doctoral interns may also provide supervision for doctoral trainees.

Doctoral interns will complete all required supervision and clinical contact hours for APPIC internship requirements within the one-year doctoral internship period. Doctoral interns are preferred candidates for future licensed, long-term positions within the practice.

Our clients are pleasant, motivated individuals who are seeking treatment for eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and mood disorders. Doctoral interns must provide individual therapy, however, family, group and couples therapy are not required but preferred. Clients who are not clinically appropriate for our areas of expertise are referred out to other specialty clinics.

We are fortunate to have a high volume of new patient referrals and are able to quickly fill your caseload pending insurance credentialing. Please note, this internship is a paid position with an annual stipend.
