About Our Practice

 

Aspen Ridge Mental Health (ARMH) is a growing, multi-site outpatient treatment center with physical locations in beautiful Denver and Westminster, CO. Our team consists of licensed psychologists, postdoctoral residents, and doctoral student externs. Most ARMH postdoctoral residents continue on at ARMH in licensed, full-time positions.

ARMH aims to provide a warm, supportive, family-like feel while respecting professional boundaries. We’re a close-knit group who genuinely like each other and value teamwork. ARMH is an insurance-based practice. We accept most major insurances, including Medicaid. We deeply value offering in-network insurance options to our clients and see accepting insurance as a vital way of doing social justice to best serve the community. ARMH provides the following services:

  • Individual therapy
  • Specialized Eating Disorder therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Couples therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Psychological Assessments for: ADHD, Learning Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and comprehensive batteries with cognitive, achievement and personality measures
  • Training and Supervision of Advanced Doctoral students from local Counseling Psychology Ph.D. and Clinical Psychology Psy.D. programs

ARMH offers specialty services to clients with eating disorders as well as general mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, mood disorders, and trauma/PTSD.

ARMH values integrative therapeutic work, emphasizing IPT (Interpersonal) and psychodynamic approaches, feminist/multicultural, as well as CBT, DBT, and ACT when skills-based work is needed.

Our team members genuinely like each other and enjoy working at ARMH! We work collaboratively as a team, referring within the practice and meeting weekly as a staff. Additional didactic trainings and specialty supervision of eating disorder cases are provided as well.

ARMH was founded by Director, Janean Anderson, Ph.D., CEDS-S. Dr. Anderson is a licensed psychologist, certified eating disorder specialist, and approved supervisor for the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). Dr. Anderson is the best-selling author of Recover Your Perspective and is host of The Eating Disorder Recovery Podcast, an internationally-known podcast in the recovery community. Dr. Anderson was named a top eating disorder expert in 2018. Dr. Anderson loves working with clients and feels honored every single day to have an amazing team of employees to join her in that work. She is seeking candidates who would like to specialize in eating disorders who also feel passionately about working with this wonderful population.
